The Hydraulic Pump Barrel, also known as the cylinder block or rotating barrel, is a part of an axial piston hydraulic pump. It contains a series of evenly spaced bores around its axis, each accommodating a piston. The barrel rotates in unison with the pump’s drive shaft and rides against the swashplate (or cam plate), causing the pistons to reciprocate as the barrel turns. This reciprocating motion draws hydraulic fluid in and forces it out under pressure.
