A hydraulic cylinder piston wear ring which is mounted on the piston separates a hydraulic cylinder into an extended side volume and a retracted side volume and helps maintain the hydraulic pressure in the cylinder without any leakage. The piston contains machined grooves that will house seals and they prevent pressurized oil from passing from one volume to the other. The piston also contains machined grooves for wear rings that ride on the inside surface of the cylinder assembly to prevent damage and scoring of the piston or cylinder assembly. The piston may also act as a stop to limit the motion of the linkage in either direction. Some pistons have features such as internal valves for additional functionality.Attributes: • Must withstand high pressure and loading • Reduces wear on the cylinder and limits stroke • Limits the motion of the linkage in either directionApplication:A hydraulic cylinder piston wear ring is used to prevent any hydraulic oil leaks from the pressurized hydraulic cylinder. It is mounted on the hydraulic piston which is a part of a mechanical actuator that is used to provide a force in one of two directions, along a limited-length linear path.
