The delayed engine shutdown feature delays the engine from shutting off until the diesel exhaust fluid injector has cooled. Installing a DEF injector phase change tank decreases the frequency of the DES feature activating. After the phase change tank installation, the delayed engine shutdown temperature threshold can be adjusted to a higher limit of 325C (617F). The change to a higher temperature allows the engine to shutdown quicker with the key switch off. Please reference Special Instructions # M0153693.
