The Final Drive is the mechanical gear system responsible for delivering power from the travel motor to the tracks and wheels of equipment. While the motor supplies hydraulic energy and initial rotation, the final drive, comprised of a planetary gear set, carrier, sun gear, ring gear, bearings, and seals, converts this input into a lower-speed, higher-torque output suitable for traction tasks. This version excludes the hydraulic motor, making it a modular replacement unit used when the motor remains functional, and only the drive system needs service. The drive unit includes structural housing and internal components capable of withstanding extreme shock loads, continuous torque, and environmental contamination such as dust or mud. Its primary function is to provide the necessary torque multiplication and support to efficiently rotate the sprockets or drive hubs, propelling the equipment forward and backward.Attributes:• Multiplies the torque received from the hydraulic motor.• Reduces speed for smoother and more controlled movement.• Supports load and absorbs impacts from ground contact.Applications: The Final Drive is located on the left-hand side of the equipment between the travel motor and drive hub, where torque needs to be transmitted to the track for ground movement.
