Cat powered access systems provide a full stairway (with hand rails) between the ground and the bumper platform, allowing easier access to the truck’s primary stairs. This bumper to ground stairway folds up out of harm’s way with the flip of a switch. The powered access system is 600 mm (24 in) wide providing adequate space for all operators. Controls for the powered access system are located both at cab level and at bumper level. A conveniently located emergency release valve will lower the stairway to ground level in approximately three seconds should the truck become inoperable.
