Cat transfer case breathers are valves or tubes that are designed to allow ventilation of the transmission transfer case, allowing heated air to escape. As the gears in the transmission turn, fluid temperatures rise, and internal air pressure builds. The breather safely releases this pressure and allows air back in as it cools, preventing blown seals and water from being sucked into the system.
