The Aftercooler Core Assembly cools down the engine cylinders' compressed air by passing it through a system where it exchanges heat with a cooling medium. By cooling the compressed air, the Aftercooler ensures that the air going into the cylinders is at a lower temperature. It consists of a network of tubes, and fins through which the hot compressed air flows. These tubes or fins are designed to facilitate efficient heat transfer.
