These range from 2500 to 6000 psi (17.5 to 42.0 MPa). The ES (Enhanced Spiral) construction is a Caterpillar proprietary design and impulse tested to twice the industry standards. Cat hoses also work at half the SAE bend radius, allowing tighter routing in a wide variety of applications.The construction of the hose is made from a fabric-reinforced, synthetic rubber tube; four or six plies of spirally-wrapped high tensile steel wire reinforcement, separated by layers of synthetic rubber. The outer cover is oil, weather, and abrasion-resistant synthetic rubber.
