The Oil Level Sight Gauge is a device that provides a visual indication of the level of oil in a unit. It provides a visual means of assessing the oil level. It's generally mounted on the exterior of the unit and calibrated to show the volume or depth of oil inside. The interior of the gauge is in direct contact with the fluid inside the unit, and because oil is less dense than the surrounding air, it rises inside the gauge to the same height as the oil in the reservoir.
