An Internal Retaining Ring is placed into a groove in the housing. An internal retaining rings are tapered from the top of the ring to the free end of the ring. This is to help with installation since the overall height of the ring decreases as it is compressed. This enables the ring to grip the entire groove in the valve housing and hence withstand higher thrust loads. As a result, the ring can easily be inserted into the valve housing and can spring back to a circular shape once installed.Attributes:• Reduce wear and damage on components• Withstand high temperatures without losing their strength or integrity• Manufactured to precise specifications and are built for durability and reliabilityApplications:An Internal Retaining Ring is used in the steering clutch control valve part of the hydraulic brake to hold the control valve onto a shaft or in a housing/bore when installed in a groove.
