The Evaporator Coil is used for absorbing heat from the surrounding air or liquid, allowing the refrigerant inside to evaporate and undergo a phase change from a liquid to a gas. The coil is made of aluminum tubing with numerous small fins attached to increase its surface area. As the warm air or liquid passes over the coil, the refrigerant within the tubing absorbs the heat, cooling the air or liquid in the process.
